Archibald M. Breckenridge died Thursday afternoon at his home, 758 North Second street. Death came after a long illness, and was due to a complication of diseases.

Mr. Breckenridge was born in Argyleshire, Scotland, March 25, 1843. He was one of a family of eleven children born to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Breckenridge. The parents settled in Caledonia, where the son grew to manhood. Feb. 22, 1870, Mr. Breckenridge was married to Mary McMillan, who, with five children survive. The children are Edward C., Matthew, Nellie E., and A. James of Rockford, Mrs. Alexander McCathran, of Caledonia, Agnes E., another child, died in infancy.

While a resident of Caledonia Mr. Breckenridge was a member of the Middle Creek church. Upon his removal to Rockford he united with the Westminster church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the house. Rev. Charles J. Wilson will officiate and interment will be in Cedar Bluff cemetery.
