ASHLEY P. McDOWELL
CURWENSVILLE - Ashley P. McDowell, 81, retired photographer and a former resident of Altoona, died at Curwensville at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
He was born in Bradford Township Dec. 12, 1869, a son of Elijah and Nancy Mcdowell and was a member of the Curwensville Methodist Church and the Knights of Pythais Lodge of Curwensville.
Surviving are his widow, Ruth Iva McDowell, and two children, Byron of Junita, Pa., and Mrs. James Humphreys of State College. Four Grandchildren and two Great-Grandchildren also survive, as does one brother, James of Clearfield.
The Knights of Pythais Lodge will hold a service at the Funeral Home at 9 o'clock Tuesday evening.
Funeral sevices will be held from the Curwensville Methodist Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. Ezra L. Parks. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Lininger Funeral Home at Curwensville from 4:30 p.m. Tuesday until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be taken to the Methodist Church to lie in state until time of services.
