MRS. R. IVA McDOWELL
CURWENSVILLE - Funeral services for Mrs. R. Iva McDowell, former Curwensville resident who died Monday at the home of her daughter in State College, will be held from the Lininger Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m.
Rev. Ezra L. Parks, pastor of the Curwensville Methodist Church, will officiate and interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Frieds may call at the funeral home from 2 until p.m. Thursday and until time of services on Friday.
Mrs. McDowell, widow of the late Ashley P. McDowell, would have celebrated her 79th birthday on March 29. She was born at Curwensville R.D. the daughter Frederick S. and Elvina Bloom. She was a member of the Curwensville Methodist church.
Except for several years when she and her husband, a well known photographer, lived in Altoona, she had been a resident of this section all her life. Mr. McDowell died last March 17.
She is survived by two children: Mrs. James (Ruth) Humphreys of State College and Byron of Altoona; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters , Mrs. Mary Shoop of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Burtnette of Altoona, and one brother, Eli Bloom of Curwensville R.D.
