Arnold Edward King was born on Feb. 10, 1934 in Parksville, Boyle Co., Kentucky, probably at the home of his parents on Tennessee Ridge. He was the son of Clarence Edward King (1912-1978), whom he was named after, and Effie Miller (1914-2007).

Arnold was the paternal grandson of Thomas Letcher "Tom" King (1881-1973) and Minna Susan "Minnie" Gooch (1884-1971). They were longtime (55 years!) residents of Tennessee Ridge.

Arnold's maternal grandparents were Ambers Parr Miller (1893-1953) and Ada Alice Honaker (1894-1980), both born in Russell Co., Virginia.

Arnold lived less than a month. His death certificate says he "died suddenly" on March 3, 1934 in Parksville from the "croup". He is buried in the Chestnut Grove Church Cemetery.
