Visiting at Melancon Funeral Home, Arnaudville, after 8 a.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, Arnaudville, 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Bill Ganucheau, pastor of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Lydia, the Rev. Guy Lemonie, pastor of St. Peter Catholic Church, New Iberia, and the Rev. Jim Doiron, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church, Lafayette. Entombment in St. Francis Regis Catholic Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Bessie Burleigh Smith, Arnaudville; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Joan (Alberta) Wick, Port Allen, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Eddy, Breaux Bridge, and Mrs. Louis (Vickie) Ganucheau, Arnaudville; two brothers, Lucius Smith and Henry Smith, both of Arnaudville; two sisters, Mrs. Numa (Mathilde) Lavergne, Opelousas, and Mrs. Joe (Louise) Guidry, Baton Rouge; and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar Smith and Tamellia Smith; a daughter, Deanna Rolfes; and two brothers, Alexander Smith and Warington Smith.
