BELLVILLE: Jo Anne T. Stephenson, age 83, of Bellville, Ohio passed away
Thursday, August 8, 2013 in MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a sudden
illness.
She was born November 12, 1929 in Willard, Ohio one of six daughters to the
late Fred and Mary Jane (Butterbaugh) Cox.
Jo Anne graduated from Madison High School in 1948.
A lifelong Richland County resident, Jo Anne worked at the SanDar Smorgasbord
restaurant in Bellville, and also at Essex Wire in Lexington, OH.
On September 8, 1951 she married Charles L. Stephenson, with whom she celebrated
just one month shy of 62 years.
Jo Anne loved to dance, and was even graceful on a pair of roller-skates in her
day.
She enjoyed shopping, making the rounds to all of her favorite stores nearly
every Sunday afternoon.
She is survived by her loving husband Charles L. Stephenson of Bellville, son
Robert E. Stephenson and his fianc�e Cheryl L. Leppert both of Findlay, Ohio;
daughter and son-in-law Carol and Richard Palange of Galion, Ohio and a son
William E. Stephenson of Bellville; ten grandchildren Amanda L. (Allen) Aubrey,
Sarah E. (Ryan) Schmitz, Nancy L. (Chad) Hiser, Jarrod L. (Sarah) Wiggins, Audra
L. (Joe) Foltz, Nick H. Palange, Bethany J. Stephenson, Scott W. Stephenson,
Keith J. Stephenson, and Justin P. Stephenson; nine great grandchildren, and a
sister Jean Pittenger of Ontario, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by four sisters Dortha Palm, Ima Snyder, Eileen
Bechtel, and Bonnie Daiber.
Friends may call Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4-7 pm in the Bellville Snyder
Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am.
Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
