James was born in Virginia and came to Indiana with his parents and siblings. He died in in January, 1880, long after the death of his wife, at the poor asylum in Connersville, Indiana, and was buried at Columbia with wife Anna Martin Trusler. Newspaper report in December 1880 (annual report of asylum) says he died of paralysis. The newspaper of Jan, 22, 1880 reports that he was stricken with paralysis. The Jan. 29th edition reports that he had died the previous Sunday. As reported in the paper, he was the uncle of Milton and Nelson Trusler who served in the Civil War from Fayette County. James was a soldier of the War of 1812.
NOTE: This is "best guess" information, as to burial of James in this cemetery. As stated, he died almost 15 years after his wife while he was at the poor asylum in Connersville, Fayette County. At least one of their children is buried in City Cemetery at Connersville, so it is possible that his remains were interred there.
