Ludwig Mathias SAILER born 18 December 1883 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Mathias SAILER and Barbara DELZER.

Ludwig at the age of 18 with parents and Siblings; Katharina, Andreas, Christina, Karl and Magdalena, immigrated to America via the Port of Bremen, Germany on the 20th of May 1902 aboard the SS "Kronprinz Wilhelm" and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the 28th of May 1902.

Ludwig SAILER married Salome ERDMANN on the 1st of January 1911 in Beulah, Mercer County, North Dakota. This union was blessed with 10 children; Otto, Ludwig, Adolf, Hertha, Jacob, Salome, Reuben, Lorraine, Arvada and Florence.

Ludwig Mathius Sailer came to America on May the 28th 1902 with his parents. He arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the ship SS "Kronprinz Wilhelm". He then spent six weeks in SD before moving to Mercer County, ND.

Ludwig and his wife Salome, nee Erdmann homesteaded 2 quarter sections of land just north of Highway 200 about 3 miles from Beulah, and lived there until 1932. After the land was sold, the Sailer family moved to a farm west of Beulah.
