**Mathias SAILER born 30 September 1855 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the son of Gottlieb SAYLER Sr. and Margaretha SAUER.

Mathias married Barbara DELZER on the 20th of February 1879 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. This union was blessed with no less than 8 children.

Mathias at the age of 46 with his wife and their children; Ludwig, Katharina, Andreas, Christina, Karl and Magdalena, immigrated to America via the Port of Bremen, Germany on the 20th of May 1902 aboard the SS "Kronprinz Wilhelm" and arrived at Ellis Island, New York on the 28th of May 1902.

The family's final destination was recorded as Scotland, South Dakota to join their friend, Jacob SCHATZ. The ship's manifest also revealed that Mathias had 800 dollars in his pocket when he arrived in America.
