Rodney J. Wood, went home to the Lord Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Rodney was born Jan. 6, 1922, and was from Holden, Utah. He was a highly decorated pilot serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 until retirement in 1972, flying missions during World War II, The Berlin Airlift, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. Rodney is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Marjorie; daughters, Jan Peek of Mesa, Ariz., and Laura Blair of Las Vegas; son-in-law, Ronald Blair of Las Vegas; along with four grandchildren and six great-grandchild-ren. Viewing will be from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
