It is with great sadness that the family of Hazel Bond
Christian announces her death fol-
lowing a short illness, Sunday,
August 28, 2011.
Born November 3, 1919 in
Dodge County, she was one of
nine siblings, and is survived
by two, Alice Grinstead and
Wilbur Bond. She was a loving
wife, caring mother, cherished
sister, beloved grandmother,
and a proud servant of God
through Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church and in her community.
She will be missed by all those
whose lives were blessed to be
touched by her. At the time of
her death, Hazel was proud to
be the oldest living member of
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,
at 91 years of age, where she
served tirelessly in many roles
over her many decades as an
active member. A quiet but
strong spiritual leader and
teacher, she grew up in and
loved her church.
She was preceded in death
by her husband Ray in 1997.
Hazel was preceded in death by siblings
Hilton Bond, Nellie Thomp-
son, Mary Upshaw, Townsend
Bond, Lillian Grinstead and
Leonard Bond, whose families
she loved to join each spring
for the Bond family reunion.
Services will be held on
Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at
