Grace I. Fuqua Bradford
Grace I Fuqua Bradford, 90, Topeka, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at a Topeka nursing home.
Mrs. Bradford and her sister operated a nursing home in Topeka for 40 years before she retired in 1979.
She was born Aug. 16, 1906, in Larned, the son (sic) of Walter and Sarah Adeline Phillips Fuqua. She had lived in Topeka since 1910.
Mrs. Bradford was a 60-year member of First Presbyterian Church in Topeka and a member of the Annie Adams-Baird Missionary Society at the church. She also was a member of the Retired Business and Professional Women's Club.
She married William Allen Bradford on Aug. 3, 1929, in Topeka. He died Oct. 22, 1956.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Harrison and Gwen Huey, both of Topeka; a son, William C. Bradford, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Bradford will lie in state after 11 a.m. Sunday at the Parker-Price Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th, Topeka, 66606.
