Mrs. Gertrude Hayden, 71, died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles McKendrie Jr., at 612 South Twentieth street, after a long illness. Born at Stockwell, she had lived at Lafayette 26 years. She was married in 1898 to Addison Hayden, who died in 1941. Active in club work she was a past matron of Hope chapter OES, past noble grand, of Rebekah lodge, member of White Shrine, Amaranth, and Sons of Union Veterans auxiliary. She also belonged to Congress Street Methodist church. Surviving besides the daughter are a son, Harold Hayden, Lafayette, and two brothers, Charles Storm, Detroit, and Thomas Storm, Thorntown.
