Mrs. Josephine Blackburn
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery for Mrs. Josephine Blackburn, 100, Lindsborg, formerly of Topeka. She died Monday, Oct. 1, at a Lindsborg nursing home where she had lived since 1968.
She was born Aug. 14, 1884, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Winklepleck Livers. She moved to Topeka in 1924, and lived in Topeka until she moved to Lindsborg in 1966.
Mrs. Blackburn was a member of First Lutheran Church in Topeka and Lutheran Church Women.
She was married to Charles E. Blackburn in September, 1909, in Washington County. He died in 1948. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Klein, died Sept. 21, 1984.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Blackburn, Wichita, Wilson Blackburn and Philip Blackburn, both of Bartlesville, Okla., and Ben Blackburn, Decatur, Ill.; three daughters, Ruth Blackburn, Alexandria, Va., Margaret Blackburn, Delavan, N.Y., and Mrs. Virginia Beason, Claremont, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1234 Fairlawn Road, 66608, or to the Bethany Home, 321 N. Walnut, Lindsborg, 67456. Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
