Ralph grew up on the family farm in Washington county, Kansas. In the late 1890's, the family moved to Marshall county, Kansas.
Ralph attended Midland College in Atkinson, KS. In 1900, he and his two older brothers, William and George, were attending school there. Ralph was a student there until about 1904 and then he attended Western Theological Seminary in Atkinson, KS until around 1906. Ralph became a Lutheran Minister.
Ralph married Nellie Young in Burt county, NE in 1906. They lived in Omaha until after 1910. They spent a few years in Colorado and then moved to Hardy, NE by 1918.
In the 1920's, they moved to Council Bluffs, IA and remained there until the late 1940's when they moved to Fremont, NE.
Ralph & Nellie had children: Wallace, Ruth and Harold (also buried Oakland Cem.)
