Holiday, Fla--Jeannie E Van Fleet, 82 of Holiday, Fla., formerly of Van Wert, Ohio died Saturday afternoon, Dec 3, 2005, at Community Hospital of New Port Richey, Fla.
She was born March 7, 1923, in Paulding, Ohio to the late Anna Marie (Hopt) Morisy and Frank Morisy. She married John J. Van Fleet. He died in 1983.
Survivors include three sons, Steven Van Fleet of Athens, Ohio, James(Eva)Van Fleet of Convoy, Ohio and Michael Van Fleet of Holiday; three daughters, Sharon Krugh of Van Wert, Susan(Allan)Derkach of Homosassa, Fla. and Mary Ann(Don)Smith of Convoy; a brother Jim Morisy of Paulding, Ohio; nine sisters, Monica Brune of Van Wert, Ruth Rekeweg of Paulding, Lucille Vsetula of Fresno, Calif., Tess Thompson of Marion, Ind., Rita Thompson of Delaware, Ohio, Rose Marie Guinan of Silver Springs, Md., Alta Ebel of Las Vegas, Nev, Margaret Ditto of Delphos and Phyllis Porter of Hicksville, NY; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Morisy and a grandson.
Mrs Van Fleet was a homemaker and worked for Thatcher Insurance, Van Wert, for several years.
She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Holiday and a former member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. She was a member of the St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church choir in Holiday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert. the Rev Charles Obinwa will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Alpach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert. There will be a Prayer service held at 7:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
