Ervin L Grover

Ervin Lewis Grover of Langdon, a long-time Spencer Foods employee, died unexpectedly Tuesday. He was 53.

Mr. Grover, the son of Lewis and Georgia Miles Grover, was born March 12, 1931, in Clay County. He graduated from Gillett Grove High School in 1949. Mr. Grover entered the military in 1952 and served with the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.

He married Velma Henaman Aug. 20, 1952, in Jasckson, Minn. They have lived in the Langdon area ever since then, Mr. Grover worked as butcher for Spencer Foods for 25 years.

He was a member of the Langdon United Methodist Church, the Amalgamted Meat Cutters Union No. 152, the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Spencer Area Saddle Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Gregory Lewis, at home; three daughters, Irene Soat of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeannie Lawrence of Langdon, and Brenda Grover, at home; two brothers, Russell and Merle, both of Langdon; three sisters, Charlotte Alger of Graettinger, Helen Stephas of Dickens, and Eleanor Daniel of Langdon; and four grandchildren.

Military services will be held by the Glen Pedersen Post No. 1 of the American Legion. Funeral services will be held today Friday, June 29, 1984, at 1:30 p.m. at Grace United Church in Spencer. The Rev. Manzel Berlin will officiate. Casket beareres will be Roger Daugherty, Orville Krukow, L.H. Dotson, Estel Fairchild, Vic Winter and Harold Dean.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Langdon.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
