She was born June 2, 1927, in Highland County, the daughter of Irsel and Juanita Melson Knedler, Sr.
On August 19, 1948, she married Kenneth Clyde Rowland, who survives.
She was a member of the New Martinsburg United Methodist Church and had taught in the Greenfield school system for 28 years.
Other survivors include her father and step-mother, Irsel and Marymae Knedler of Bradentown, Florida; two sons, both of Greenfield; a brother of Stanton; two sisters, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield.
Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery.
