MINONK - Catherine M. Karasek, 74, of Minonk died at
2:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.

Born Nov. 10, 1930, in Rutland to Henry G. and Anna F. Stimac Arndt, she married Elmer J. Karasek on Aug. 1, 1953, in Rutland. He died Dec. 4, 1983.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, Donald; and one sister.

Surviving are one son;
four brothers,
John (and Bonnie) Arndt,
Fred (and Bernice) Arndt
and William (and Harriet) Arndt, all of Rutland,
and Thomas (and Edith) Arndt of Minonk;
and five sisters,
Eva Carvish,
Carol (and William) Blair,
Mary (and LeRoy) Kearns
and Barbara Arndt, all of Rutland,
and Patricia (and Ron) Franklin of Spring Valley.

She was a member of St. Dismas Catholic Church in Waukegan and did charity work for her church.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Toluca. The Rev. James Kretz will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation has been accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Reilley Cemetery in Wenona. Arrangements are by Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home in Toluca.

Memorials may be made to Scared Heart Catholic Church in Rutland.
