TOLUCA -- Donald E. "Dutch" Arndt, 74, of 712 W. Topeka died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at his residence.
Born Oct. 9, 1924, in Rutland to Henry G. and Anna Frances Stimac Arndt, he married Annabelle Hogden on Nov. 27, 1948, in Rutland. She died May 10, 1964. He married Nancy Boresi Silvestri on July 23, 1982, in Toluca. She survives.
Also surviving are
four sons;
one daughter;
four stepdaughters;
five brothers,
John, Fred and Bill, all of Rutland,
Jim of Germantown Hills
and Tom of Minonk;
six sisters,
Katherine Karasek of Waukegan,
Mrs. Peter (Eva) Carvish of Rutland,
Mrs. Ron (Pat) Franklin of Lake Wildwood
and Mrs. Bill (Carol) Blair,
Mrs. Leroy (Mary) Kerns
and Barbara Arndt, all of Rutland;
10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One infant daughter, Donna, and one sister preceded him in death.
A World War II Navy veteran, he was a charter member of Rutland American Legion Post.
He farmed in the Rutland area for many years. He later worked at Tall Oaks Country Club in Toluca, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Toluca, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. James Kretz will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Aimone-Froelich Memorial Home, with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in Reilly Cemetery in rural Rutland, where military rites will be conducted by his American Legion post.
