THE LATE MRS. CREAMER

Decease of an Estimable Citizen of Rosenhayn

For the News.
There died on Sunday afternoon at Rosenhayn one of those kindly Christian women. Mrs. Lily Cawman Creamer, daughter of David P. and Ellen Brandriff Cawman, who has made the lives of those around her more cheerful and happy by her gentle quality of helpfulness. She was well-known to many West Vineland people, where her girlhood days were spent at school and the sessions of the old West Vineland Farm Club. She came to live in Vineland with her sister, Mrs. Victoria H. Purvis, on Oak Road, in 1876, and went with the Purvis family to Rosenhayn and became a very successful school teacher and was an elocutionist and singer of unusual ability.

She was married to Nathan L. Creamer, the eldest son of Andrew Creamer, who built one of the first houses on West Plum street, Vineland, in 1862 and who, with his family removed to Rosenhayn in 1876.

Mrs. Creamer through her months of illness upheld her Christian cheerfulness to the very last and when her sorrowing friends saw the presence of death she still held her presence of mind to counsel them. She had a host of friends and was noted for her Christian charity for everybody and her wonderful voice in song. She is survived by her husband and four children. The latter are Belle Layton Creamer, Wilson Purvis Creamer, Mary L. Creamer and Victoria Lily Creamer.

The funeral was held at the Rosenhayn M. E. Church, on Tuesday, August 16, at 1 o'clock.
