OBITUARY OF JOHN BENNETT OLSON

John Olson, 77, of Denver, Colo., died January 20, 1997. Services were January 24, 1997 with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.

John was born in Elsie, Nebr., at the family home to Oscar H. and Bina Oman Olson on October 8, 1919. He grew up on the family farm near Elsie. He graduated from Elsie High School and in 1939 (Feb 11 in Holyoke, CO) was married to Maxine Iola Terry. John and his family lived on farms near Grant and Madrid. He worked for the railroad in Alliance, Nebr., before being transferred to Denver, Colo. He continued to work for the railroad for a while and then went to work for the U.S. Post Office until he retired. He was a member of the Bear Valley Church of Christ. He will be missed by all.

Survivors include daughters, Judy Bates and husband Dick of Denver, Colleen Olson of Lakewood, Colo., and Marta Olson of Denver; a son, Gary Olson, of Fort Lupton, Colo.; a brother, Henry Olson and sister, Ruby McQueen, both of Elsie; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Bina; his wife, Maxine; two brothers, Elmer and Glen; and one infant daughter.
