Betty Ann (Spatz) Fuchtman, of Creighton, Nebraska, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Avera Creighton Hospital, Creighton, Nebraska. Betty, The daughter of Otto and Veronica (Topf) Spatz, was born July 2, 1926 at Plainview, Nebraska.
Betty attended and graduated from Plainview (NE.) High School with the Class of 1944. After receiving her education, Betty spent two years in Omaha, Nebraska, doing secretarial work for John Deere Company.
On October 14, 1947, she was married to Raymond "Ray" Fuchtman at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Plainview, Nebraska.
Betty and Ray resided in Creighton, Nebraska, after marriage, where she was employed for a few years at Lee George's Clothing Store, Creighton, Nebraska.
The couple was blessed with four children, and Betty enjoyed being a homemaker and mother. After the children were grown, she assisted Ray with the family business, Ray's Tavern, Creighton, Nebraska.
Betty is survived by: sons, Jay (wife Jill) Fuchtman, and Scott (wife Dione) Fuchtman, all of Creighton, Nebraska; grandsons, Kyle (wife Jenny) Fuchtman, Blake Fuchtman, Adam Fuchtman, Klay Fuchtman, and Branden Mathine; granddaughters, Erin (husband Rob) Swaney and Rashea Fuchtman; great-grandchildren, Haydin Fuchtman, Hadley Fuchtman, Dylan Swaney, Mason Swaney, and Braden Swaney; and brothers, Dwain (wife Ruth) Spatz of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Francis (wife Marj) Spatz of San Clemente, California.
Betty was preceded in death by: son, Thomas Fuchtman; daughter, Sue (Fuchtman) Mathine; husband, Raymond Fuchtman and parents, Veronica and Otto Spatz.
Burial was in the St. Ludger Catholic Cemetery, Creighton, Nebraska.
