Stanley Faith Carpenter, age 70 of Minden, Louisiana, passed away in Shreveport on Thursday, April 25, 2013.

Mr. Carpenter was a native of Winnfield, Louisiana, was a U. S. Navy Veteran of Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Minden. He was a master mason for more than 30 years and was a member of Sunset Acres Lodge No 438 in Shreveport.

Mr. Carpenter was the son of the late Edgar Carpenter and the late Ozelia McDermott Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Faye A. Shriver Carpenter, one son Michael Stan Carpenter of Vicksburg, MS., one daughter Dee Dee Carpenter of Minden, three precious granddaughters Taylor Alexis Carpenter, Jaide Gabrielle Carpenter, and Laila Simone Carpenter.

Mr. Carpenter is also survived by two brothers Otis Carpenter of Newlton, LA, and J. D. Carpenter of Florida, as well as one sister Elizabeth Barnhill of Sour Lake, TX..

Funeral services for Mr. Carpenter will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mickey Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Cypress Creek Cemetery with Masonic Burial Rites conducted by Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 F&AM.

Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
