Mr. James Jo Carpenter Sr., age 75 of Sicily Island, Louisiana, died June 22, 2005 at his residence after a long illness. Mr. Carpenter was a U.S. Navy veteran and a former Sheriff's Deputy.
Graveside funeral services will be held 10AM Saturday, June 25, at Cypress Creek Cemetery with Reverend Elton Gunter officiating. Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Mr. Carpenter was preceded in death by his wife Lillian. He is survived by: One Son James J. Carpenter Jr. and his wife Judy of Sicily Island; One daughter: Sharon Guin of Sicily Island; One Sister: Elizabeth Barnhill of Sour Lake, TX; Four Brothers: B.R. Carpenter and his wife Pat of Gansville, La., O.E. Carpenter and his wife Mary Virgina of Newelton, La., S.F. Carpenter and his wife Faye of Minden, Louisiana, J.D. Carpenter and wife Kathy of Clear Water, FL.; Four Aunts: Murlin Carpenter of Dodson, La., Virgie Carpenter, of West Monroe, La., Nola McDonald of Tallulah, La., and Audrice Crawford of West Monroe, LA.; Two Grandchildren: Jennifer and bud Acker, Janna and Eric Chauvin all of Sicily Island; Three Great Grandchildren: Juleigh Acker, Jenna Chauvin and James Richard Acker.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Carpenter, Nicholas Carpenter, Spencer Carpenter, Ken Carpenter, Ernie Dennis, Joey Dennis, Bud Acker, and Eric Chauvin.
