Ila Mae (Landon) Eisenberger, age 89, of Owosso, Michigan and formerly of Shepherd, Michigan, passed away, Friday, July 10, 1998, at the Durand Convalescent Home in Durand (Shiawassee County), Michigan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Tuesday at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd, Michigan, with the Reverend Dean Prentiss officiating, and interment will be in the Salt River Cemetery in Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
Ila was born December 16, 1908, in Chippewa Township, Isabella County, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Lula (Chivington) Landon. She married her husband, Carl Henry Eisenberger, on March 4, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant (Isabella County), Michigan.
She attended Central Michigan College before beginning to teach and then later graduated from Central Michigan. She taught in several country schools in the Mt. Pleasant and Shepherd area and was a teacher for 22 years before retiring in 1971.
She was a member of the Country Side United Methodist Church and the Coe Chapter of the Eastern Stars in Shepherd, Michigan and was very active in her church and other community activities.
She is survived by her son, John Eisenberger, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Carla (Phil) Curtiss, of Owosso, Michigan and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl and three brothers, Lloyd, Cecil and Willis (Bill) Landon, all of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Memorials may be made to the Country Side United Methodist Church, the Coe Township Library or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
