SAN ANTONIO – Funeral services for Mary Etta Fails, 95, were held June 27, 2001 at Mission South Chapel in San Antonio with internment at Mission Park Cemetery. Mrs. Fails died in San Antonio. She was born to John Thomas and Lula Whiteley in Milam County. She married Ambrose Frank Fails and the couple lived in San Antonio. For the past three years, she had resided at Morningside Manor. Mrs. Fails was employed by the Harlandale School District as cafeteria manager at Wright Elementary School. She enjoyed her association with the children, teachers, administrators and especially her co-workers. She was a long-time member of the Harlandale Church of Christ, which was dear to her heart. Mrs. Fails was preceded in death by her husband, Ambrose Frank Fails; a granddaughter, Arleen Muriel Ortiz. Rockdale Reporter, July 12, 2001
