Mrs. Chloe Markham, widow of the late James Markham, was the daughter of Wm. and Mary Holliday. She was born July 10, 1847 near Mt. Vernon and died November 27. she married James Markham at Mt Vernon December 11, 1865. They had nine children: Ida Pettit of Flora who died, Mattie McKitrick of Oklahoma, Minnie bayles of Flora, Thomas of Johnsonville, C.C. of Wilmore, KY, J.E. of Xenia, W.A. of Assumption and Elmer who died in childhood.
