Mrs. Nellie Dawson
Mrs. Nellie Dawson, 1842 Michigan Ave., widow of Elmer R. Dawson, died Thursday at noon in City Hospital, following a two-week illness. She was 76.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Marietta and lived in East Liverpool for 60 years. She was a finisher at the Harker Pottery Co., retiring 10 years ago. She was a member of the Boyce Methodist Church, the Dawson Memorial Sunday School Class, the WSCS and IBOP.
She leaves two sons, Harold Dawson of East Liverpool and J.H. Dawson of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Armour of East Liverpool; three sisters, Mrs. Stell Delbrooks of Toronto, Mrs. Mary Brown of Marietta and Mrs. Ada Scott of Minerva, and five grandchildren. Her husband died in January, 1945.
Rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Martin Funeral Home by the Rev. Gail McQueen, pastor of the Boyce church, assisted by the Rev. William Mautz of the Empire Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Friends may call this afternoon and tonight at the funeral home.
According to the 1951 obituary of her sister Martha Scott Ward Lee, Nellie lived at Chicago at the time of Martha's death.
Also, this Nellie WAS married to an Elmer Dawson (middle initial R) and had sisters in Noble County, Ohio, the spouse of this Nellie is not the same person as Elmer Ellsworth Dawson (1882-1940) buried in Noble County as findagrave # 26310087.
