Adie was 16 when she married her first husband, William Walter Mosser. They had a son Charles, who lived (as Charles Mosser) for the 1910 and 1920 censuses with Adie's parents Malachi and Harriet Martin Hearn Scott.

Contemporary records at the time of Ada/Adie's birth indicated that Malachi Scott was not Ada's natural father but he raised her and signed her first marriage certificate as her father. And, modern DNA testing shows that Malachi had to have been her natural father, after all.

Adie/Ada was 20 when she re-married to James Walter "Skip" Scott. Her son Charles by Mosser seems to have taken Scott as his new surname. His children were all called Scotts.
