Irene E. Boyer, 99, of Palmyra and formerly of Shellsville passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra.
Born July 9, 1913 in East Hanover Township, Dauphin County, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Gerberich and Annie L. (Seaman) Hetrick.
She was the widow of Robert L. Boyer who died September 17, 1996.
A member of Shells Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was a sales representative for Tri-Chem and was involved with her husband in the former Boyer Funeral Home and Furniture Store in Shellsville. She was a former member of Shellsville V. F. W. Ladies Auxiliary, Farm Women and the Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving are her children Carl S., husband of Myrle Boyer of Jonestown, Rev. Gene K., husband of Edee Boyer of Sugarloaf, and Linda M., wife of Galen Donmoyer of Mill Hall; sister Pauline Koons of Hershey; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at her church, 287 Shells Church Road, Grantville preceded by a viewing from 10:00 AM. Interment in Grantville Cemetery.
