Graveside service for Lura E. Catlin, 99, of Gainesville, is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas with Dr. Eddie Chennault, minister of Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville. Mrs. Catlin died Friday, April 25, 2003, at the Renaissance Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 29, 1903, in Streetman to Willis and Ida Williams Cate. She married Emmit Edward Catlin. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, a homemaker, a nurse's aide at Baylor Hospital, a house parent for Scottish Rite Hospital, and a house parent for Presbyterian Hospital in Waco. Survivors include her sons, The Rev. Edward Earl Catlin of Gainesville, and the Rev. Daniel Norwood Catlin of Moses Lake, Wash.; daughters, Ina Mae Wood of Dallas and Velda Herzog of Ritzville, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Edward Catlin; son, Godfrey Jorgan Catlin; four brothers; and three sisters. No visitation is planned.
