Virgil P. Cate, 79, of Corsicana, died July 15, 1995, at Corsicana Nursing Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10am. Tuesday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home, with Dr. David hale officiating. Burial will be in Eureka Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Standard, Monty Cleveland, Ed Catlin, Gale Cate, Lyndon Cate and James Gillman. Mr. Cate was born Jan. 27, 1916, in Streetman. He is survived by his wife, Iris Standard Cate of Corsicana; his daughter, Beth Cate Morris of Breckenridge; two sisters, Lura Catlin of Gainesville and Beulah York of Fairfield; two grandchildren, Latona Ables of Stephenville and Monty Cleveland of Elke City, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren.
