Agnes Fowler(nee Gibbons), age 90, of Sewell, NJ, passed on to Glory on February 13, 2013. She was born to the late Joseph Hoctor Gibbons and Helen Sweet Gibbons in Philadelphia, Pa. on August 19, 1922 and was raised in West Conshohocken, Pa., one of 8 children.
Agnes was married to Master Sergeant(USMC, retired)Henry James Fowler on December 29, 1941 for 62 years, before he was called home on January 30, 2005.
During World War II, and the Korean War, Agnes served her country as a military wife, raising her children on her own while Jim was away at war. Agnes was a devoted parishioner at the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua, NJ and was active in the Legion of Mary, faithfully ministering to the younger "old" folks at the Gloucester Manor Health Care Nursing Home regularly. She also served Meals on Wheels to the local community while living in upstate New York.
Agnes is survived by her brother, Thomas Gibbons and his wife Rita; and by her five children, H. James Fowler and his wife Carol, William Fowler and his wife Gloria, Marilyn Demko and her husband Fred, Janice Chan and her husband Paul, and Lisa Mlynarczyk; as well as 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Agnes' youngest son Robert John Fowler was called home on May 11, 2000.
Relatives and friends are invited from 10-10:45 a. m. to visit with the family. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a. m. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St., Mantua, NJ. Interment will be in Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062.
