John came to Farmington with his father, Arthur, in 1824.

He married Emeline Webb, in 1828. She was the daughter of Ezekiel Webb, Farmington's first Postmaster.

Son John Webb Power was born soon after his father's death. In 1850, John was living in Madison, Lenawee, MI, with his mother, step-father and siblings. He died in 1893 in Minnesota and is buried in Iowa.

Emeline Webb Power married Amos Hoag in 1831. They moved to Missouri. Emeline died in 1895 in Jasper, MO.
