Florene Robbins Basler, 54, of Nashville, formerly of the Brimstone community, passed away suddenly Friday morning, November 23, 1984, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Basler was the daughter of the late Jonathan Robbins and the late Julia Sexton Robbins and was also preceded in death by one sister, Ella Mae Hardwick; an four brothers: Lawrence, Kermit, John, and Virgil Robbins. Mrs. Basler was employed by the Tennessee State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors and was a member of the Dalewood Baptist Church in Nashville. She is survived by one son, Michael R. O'Neal of Tullahoma; three sisters: Mattie Walker of the High Point community, Zoma Walker of Louisville, Ky., and Ina Robbins of Miami, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday, November 26, with Rev. Carl Jeffers and Rev. Kenneth Castleberry officiating. Terry Cothron of Nashville sang and Mrs. Rose West played the organ. Burial followed in the Sexton Cemetery in the Slick Rock community. Pallbearers were: James L. Carson, Tom Fitzgerald, Doyle Hardwick, Kenneth Robbins, James Robbins, and Jimmy Walker. West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida was in charge of arrangements.
