CLARENCE TUCKER DIES FOLLOWING A LONG ILLNESS
Rites Held Friday For Well-Known Alcester Resident
Clarence Tucker, 54, of Alcester, S.D., former Plymouth county resident, passed away Wednesday morning, December 29, in the McKennan hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D., after a lingering illness.
Mr. Tucker was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Tucker, pioneer residents of Akron vicinity and was born on the Tucker farm, four and a half miles southeast of Akron, in March, 1900. In young manhood he married Miss Carrie Finn, of Alcester, and they have since made their home there. Always interested in outdoor sports, Mr. Tucker was for many years actively indentified with baseball activities in that area.
Survivors include his wife, Carrie; three sons, Kennneth, Bruce and Howard; three grandchildren; four brothers, Charles, of Le Mars; W.P., of Akron; Alo, of Madison, S. D., and George of Sioux City; five sisters, Mrs. A. L. Rozell, of Akron; Mrs. T. B. Byrne, of Le Mars; Mrs. Dan Royer, of Winnebago, Minn.; Mrs. Lynn Jenkins, of Barrett, Minn., and Mrs. Walter Harvey, of Marcus, Iowa.
Local relatives attended the funeral servicxes held last Friday afternoon in the Congregrational church at Alcester, Rev. Hugh Gackle officiating. Interment was in the cemetery there.
