He operated his farm as long as his health permitted and was a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. His wife, Mrs. Lucy Adams, died three months ago.
He is survived by five sons, Oren B., James E. and Jesse Heyward Adams, all of Leesville, Gurney R. Adams of the N.W. White Co., Columbia and Freddie L. Adams of Palmetto Quarries Co. of Columbia; four daughters, Mrs. Forrest Cromer of Newberry, and Miss Sadie Adams, Miss Faye Adams and Miss Elsie Adams, all of Leesville; two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Sharpe of Columbia and Mrs. Zora McCollum of Miami, Fl; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 Saturday afternoon from Cedar Grove Lutheran Church by the Rev. Guy C. Cruse. The body is at the home. © The State, Columbia, SC, 15 Feb 1958.
