Charles W. Battershell, 76, 984 W. College St. died at Alliance City Hospital at 8:30 p.m. yesterday following a sudden illness.

Mr. Battershell was born in Alliance Oct. 16, 1899 to William and Alice Caves Battershell and had lived in this area all of his life. He retired in 1964 from the stamping plant at Transue and Williams Co. and was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel R. (Baker) in 1966. Mr. Battershell was a member of the Vine St. United Methodist Church.
