William Jay Hill TAYLORS William Jay Hill, 84, of 101 Oakwood Ave., died March 19, 1997, at home. A native of Gaffney, he was the son of the late Thomas William and Zora Brown Hill. He was a retired employee of General Electric Gas Turbine Plant and a member of Abner Creek Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Wilbanks Hill; two daughters, Muriel Rowley of Easley and Dianne Shirley of Taylors; one son, Tom Hill of Sebring, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one greatgrandson. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at The Wood Mortuary. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the mortuary, conducted by the Revs. Donel Kelley and Vernon Thornhill. Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Abner Creek Baptist Church, 2461 Abner Creek Road, Greer, 29651 or The American Cancer Society, 1010 E.
