Jessie Lawhorn Clements, 102 of Lynchburg passed away peacefully at her residence, Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was the wife of the late Charles H. Clements. Born in Amherst County May 15, 1910, she was the daughter of the late James Thomas Lawhorn and Annie Whitten Lawhorn. She was retired from Imperial Redding with 35 years of service and was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Macon Clements and his wife Betty of Lynchburg and Melvin Clements of Bel Air, MD; one daughter, Sylvia Clements of Lynchburg and seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Bryant; four step-children, Roy Clements, Carson Clements, Alma Ayers and Delta Watts; five brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Bower officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Chestnut Hill Baptist Church 5225 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
