Joan Clements Bryant
Joan Clements Bryant, 74 of Lynchburg died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late James Price Bryant.
Born March 19, 1936, in Rockbridge Co., Va, she was the daughter of Jessie Lawhorne Clements of Lynchburg and the late Charles H. Clements. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church and retired from Tri-Tech.
In addition to her father and husband, Mrs. Bryant is also preceded in death by a son, Richard W. Bryant; brothers, Roy and Carson Clements; sisters Alma Ayres and Delta Watts.
In addition to her mother she is survived by four children, special son and caregiver J. "Terry" Bryant, Deborah Bowles and husband James, Mrs. William H. "Donna" Shields and Kathy S. Bryant; brothers, Macon and Melvin Clements and sister Sylvia Clements; grandchildren, David Picard, Jason Picard and wife, Stephanie, Kevin Bryant and wife Larken, Melissa Ray, Curtis Ray and Jennifer Bryant ; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Randy J. Bower. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to express their apprecation to Dr. Sellers of PACE and all of the employees on English I.
The family would like memorial contributions to be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 5225 Fort Ave. Lynchburg, Va 24502.
