John William Britain was the first son of William and Mary (Baines) Britain. He was born in the Rushville, Pottawattamie, Iowa area where his parents had settled in 1846. He died in infancy in what is now Mills County, Iowa where his parents had moved. His burial location is not known, but is probably in the Glenwood, Mills, Iowa area in an unmarked grave. They had not established a main cemetery, so it's possible he was buried on their property as well.
