Catherine Rebecca Britain Anson came to this country in 1846 aboard the ship "Windsor Castle" at the age of 2. She was the oldest child of her parents William and Mary Britain who came from Moulton Chapel, Lincolnshire, England to Nauvoo, Ill as Mormon Emmigrants. She grew up in Glenwood, Mills Co., Iowa.

Catherine Rebecca Britain was born in Moulton, England, June 14, 1844 and died at her home northwest of Springfield, Nebr. last Friday morning, April 1, 1910, following an illness of several weeks duration. On May 27, 1860 she was married to Edward T. Anson, and to this union was born 15 children, 9 of whom survive her. They are Harmon, James and Frank Anson and Mrs. D.O. Smith of Springfield, Mrs. A.W. Cline of Louisville, Mrs. J.R. Caylor of Oxford, Neb., Levi Anson of Walthill, Neb, and Lester Anson and Mrs. Ed Armstrong of Brunswick, Neb. Besides her children, she leaves 33 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 4 sisters and 1 brother. The funeral was held from the Platteford M.E. Church with Rev. E.J.T. Connely preaching the sermon. The church was filled with friends and neighbors, testifying by there presence the respect in which the deceased was held by those who knew her best. The interment was in the Ball Cemetery.
