Julia Ann Britain was the daughter of Mormon pioneers to Glenwood, Mills, Iowa, William and Mary Bains Britain. She was born in Coonsville, Pottawatamie, Iowa and grew up in Glenwood, Mills, Iowa. She married her first husband, George Dalton who was the son of a tavern keeper - stage station owner between Glenwood and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Julia was very young when she married, only fifteen and George was twenty nine. He was a veteran of the Civil War and by him they had 2 children, Will, and daughter Cora. This marriage ended in Divorce and Julia received custody of the 2 children. Julia then married her 2nd husband, Felix Tyson, and by him she had a son Oliver Harrison Tyson. Felix was also in the Civil War. Felix was a brother to sister Lucy Ann's husband Oliver Tyson. Following Felix's death, Julia then took a 3rd husband Lee Winfield Stewart by him she had a son and 3 daughters.

She was 71 and died at her home at 719 Fourth Ave. East. Mrs. Stewart is an old settler of this state. She and her husband homesteaded near Garden City in 1879. They have lived here for the past five years. She is survived by her husband, R.L. Stewart and eight children, Mrs. MC Stevens, lamar, Mrs. WR Hile, Lajuanta, Miss Harriet Stewart, Medford, Ore., Mrs. Cora Larsen, Amarillo, Will and Oliver Stewart, Omaha, Mrs. CV Clark and HL Stewart, Hutchinson.

Next to Julia's grave are the graves of her daughter, Myrtie Clark who died in 1980, Myrtie's husband, Clarence and Harriet Stewart, Julia's daughter that did not marry. She is also next to her husband Lee Stewart and daughter Carrie Stewart age 10 months.Age 70
