Elbert Marlow Rudd 52 of New Home died Friday August 23, 1996. Services will be at 2 PM Sunday August 25, 1996 at New Home Baptist Church with the Rev Morris Pruit minister officiating.

Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton under direction of White Funeral Home of Tahoka. Casketbearers were Larry Durham, Freddie Kieth, Jackie Weatherly, Steve Fillingim, Clarence Neiman and Ronald Wyatt.

Marlow was born November 19, 1943 in Slaton. He graduated from New Home High School and he attended Texas Tech. Marlow married Barbara Gene Robinson on March 29, 1969 in Eunice, New Mexico. He moved to New Home from Eunice, New Mexico in 1985. He was a member of the New Home Lions Club and New Home Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Marlow owned Rudd Country Store and the Feed Barn in Lubbock

Survivors include his wife Barbara; son Carey of Lubbock; daughter Marla of College Station; brother Don B. of Bedford; and two sisters Lonette Smith of New Home and Linda Beach of Center.

The family suggests memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association 8212 Ithaca Avenue Lubbock, Texas 794523.
