KINGSPORT TENN. — Stella Grantham Anderson, 86, died Sunday, June 20,1999 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Pulaski, she had resided in Kingsport for the past 20 years and also resided in several towns and cities while serving with her husband the Rev. Virgil Anderson a Minister with the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.

She was a charter member of the United Methodist Women and a member of the Morning Star Sunday School Class of St. Luke United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Virgil Anderson.

Surviving are a daughter, Velman Vicars and husband of Kingsport; a son, Wayne Anderson and wife of Johnson City, Tenn.; four grandchildren; one sister, Isabell Blankenship of Roanoke; one brother, Tommy Grantham of Conroe, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Richard Richter officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Thorsprings Cemetery, Pulaski. Memorials may be given to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2600 East Center, Kingsport, Tenn. 37764. Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
