Orangeburg - Mrs. Grace Gunnells Altman, 82, of 885 Rivelon Road SW, Orangeburg, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of orangeburg is in charge of the service. Mrs. Altman was born July 11, 1930, in Govan, a daughter of the late Shellie Gunnells and the late Lillie Maxey Gunnells. She was retired from Altman Tire Co. and was a member of Rivelon Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Herman M. Altman Sr. of Orangeburg; three daughters, Terry (Charles) Edgemon of Orangeburg, Tammy (Jim) Fisher of Augusta, Ga., and Toni (Evan) Phillips of Seattle; a son, Herman M (Sharon) Altman Jr., of Orangeburg; two sisters, Florine Dodds of Mount Pleasant and Sarah Crook of North Charleston; a brother; David (Peggy) Gunnells of Blackville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the residence, 885 Rivelon Road, Orangeburg, and Thompson's Funeral Home Inc.
