Lindsley W. "Linny" VanCleave, 67, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at his residence in Franklin.
He was born July 7, 1945, in Franklin to Buford and Sarah (Beatty) VanCleave.
Survivors include a brother, William Carl (Marlene) VanCleave of Franklin; a sister, Beatrice VanCleave Davis of Rushville; a sister-in-law, Doris Jean VanCleave; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by four siblings, Delores K. Moore, Buford VanCleave Jr., Lester Allen and Felecia Jones; two brothers-in-law, Jim Davis and John T. Jones Jr.; and a sister-in-law Theola VanCleave.
Linny graduated from Franklin Community High School.
He worked for Arvin Automotive in Franklin and then for the U.S. Post Office in Franklin until his retirement. He later worked for Bud and Bloom Florist in Franklin.
Linny enjoyed roller skating and dancing and was an avid record collector.
The Rev. Irvin French will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
