Victor George Scheer departed this life at his residence, on a Monday. He had reached the age of 83 years, eight months and 23 days. On October 24, 1959 in St. Louis he was united in marriage to Lois K. Fitzgerald. He served his country honorably with the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 1000 in Jefferson City. Victor was buried with full military honors.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar and Bob; and four sisters, Elsie, Ruth, Joyce and Betty. His survivors include his wife, Lois; daughter, Linda Hiatt and husband Dennis of Rosebud; sister, Esther Scheer of St. Louis; brother, Donald Scheer and wife Sue of Arnold; grandchildren, Kevin Hiatt and wife Gena, Chris Hiatt and wife Samantha, Atianna Hiatt and Isaac Hiatt; and one great-grandson, Eli Hiatt. Funeral services were provided by the Gottenstroetter Funeral Home, Owensville, MO.
